Steven Bennett is the Director of Workforce Programs for the Florida Association of Community Health Centers, supporting the workforce efforts of more than 50 federally qualified health centers that employ more than 13,000 individuals.
He has 20 years of experience in the education, workforce, and community development arena. He has supported regional and national initiatives around healthcare workforce development, focusing on building long-term talent pipelines in hard-to-serve areas, operationalizing plans that build diversity and equity in hiring/retention, and creating state-of-the-art training programs that meet the needs of healthcare providers and job seekers alike. His professional passion and expertise are focused on using evidence-based career pathway strategies to advance employer-lead workforce development efforts, work that was adopted and used as part of a White House initiative in 2016.
He is also an educator, having taught at a Title I public high school and supporting student achievement at one the nation’s largest community colleges.
Steven has a Master of Arts from Michigan State University in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) and a Bachelor of Science from Central Michigan University in social science. He is also certified by the Society for Human Resource Management as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).
