CSaA1 - Becoming an Employer of Choice: What Research Indicators and Real World Experience Tell Us About Creating a Culture of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging

As we face an ever-changing workforce landscape where recruitment and retention are no longer a guarantee, organizations must reexamine what it takes to be the employer of choice in their area. Being an employer of choice requires a workplace that prioritizes equity, engagement, and employee satisfaction. Cultivating an workplace culture where employees feel they are valued beyond the tasks they complete can help organizations achieve that goal. In this session, we will discuss the factors that contribute to achieving this status, including equity in opportunity, relational & shared leadership practices, communication, work-life balance, recognition and rewards, and purpose.

The employer of choice is a holistic approach that prioritizes equity, transparent, psychological safety, communication, authentic staff engagement and development, work-life balance, recognition, and social responsibility. Research results and the expertise of health center leaders will demonstrate the advantage a culture infused in equity, diversity, inclusion & belonging serves organizations in becoming the employer of choice.
