CSuK3 - Driving Opportunities and Expanding Access through the Growth of Mobile Health Units

The growing need for mobile health care programs and the challenges community health centers face in developing one is a clear and present...opportunity. There has been a 40% growth in health center mobile units since 2019 as health centers are increasingly looking to mobile health programs to serve their communities. Through the growth of investment from COVID relief dollars, to private funders, to the first round of New Access Point opportunities to come out since the passage of the MOBILE Health Care Act (S. 958) in the fall of 2022, allowing health centers to apply for new sites as stand-alone mobile units, the golden age of mobile health is upon us.

The session will invite attendees to hear from a family foundation that has invested in the growth and infrastructure to double the size of care provided through mobile units, health centers about the most frequent challenges they’ve encountered in designing and carrying out their programs, and experts talk about the funding, partnership, workforce, and logistical strategies utilized and the importance of identifying key solutions that fit their unique community needs.

This session will wrap up with an engaging Q&A portion where health centers and audience members will have the opportunity to interact with the panelists and discuss need-specific questions, and exchange resources and lessons learned with fellow attendees.

Attendees will walk away from this session equipped with the tools, resources, and a network of mobile health partners to design and implement their own mobile health programs and lead conversations about mobile health with local, state, and national leaders.
