In this workshop, presenters will demonstrate the need for evidence-based career pathway strategies that can be used in both recruitment and retention for the purpose of evaluating the “whole” individual as they seek a career in a Community Health Center. Using on-the-ground resources developed specifically for Community Health Centers, the presenters will walk through the “theory of change” for using evidence-based career pathways:

  1. The need to recruit from an enhanced sourcing pool of individuals;

  2. Understanding what job-fit means for specific occupations in health centers and how to assess for alignment;

  3. Why utilizing “compensatory selection processes” for both recruitment and retention leads to better job-fit;

  4. How Centers can integrate specific tools for deploying career pathway strategies that help asses job-fit and align with compensatory selection processes;

  5. Why these strategies serve both the needs of the employer (in this case, health centers) and employees (either candidates or incumbent);

  6. How career pathway and compensatory selection processes are drivers for consequential JEDI outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion, participant will understand how evidence-based career pathways help achieve JEDI outcomes for an organization based on enhanced recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Upon completion, participants will understand how to effectively implement holistic career pathway strategies within their Center, including how to operationalize these strategies for effective impact.
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to better understand how determining job fit, and using the right tools, for a candidate or incumbent at the offset will lead to retention
